Chain of Lakes

Lakes that connect

Winter Haven's signature is not one lake — it's a chain of them, linked by canals you can boat through. Ramps, water data, and what lakefront life actually looks like here.

The local angle

One boat, many lakes

The Chain of Lakes is what separates Winter Haven from every other lake town in Polk County: canals link the southern chain so a single afternoon can cover several lakes without trailering. Water-ski culture started here decades ago and never really left, and LEGOLAND sits right on Lake Eloise where the old Cypress Gardens water-ski shows ran.

The city maintains the public ramps and lakefront parks; the water management district tracks levels across the chain, which swing seasonally.
